Realme 16 5G Launched in India: Packs a 7000mAh Battery, IP69K Rating & Rear Selfie Mirror!

Realme just expanded its 16 series in India with the all-new Realme 16 5G. Targeting creators and heavy users, it brings a massive 7000mAh battery, an ultra-bright AMOLED display, and a unique rear selfie mirror in a surprisingly slim profile. Here is everything you need to know.

Following its initial global teaser earlier this year, Realme has officially brought the Realme 16 5G to Indian shores. It joins its older siblings, the Realme 16 Pro and 16 Pro+, completing the lineup. If you are someone who hates charging their phone but still wants a sleek device with solid camera features, this launch is definitely aimed at you.

Let’s dive into the specs, features, and official pricing.

A Slim Profile with a Titan Battery Usually, when you hear "7000mAh battery," you picture a heavy, bulky brick. But Realme has used an "Air Design" philosophy with high-density component stacking here. The result? The phone is just 8.1mm thick and weighs only 183g.

That massive 7000mAh battery is built to last, featuring Realme’s Titan Long-Life Algorithm which guarantees 80% battery health even after 1,600 charging cycles. When you do run out of juice, the 60W fast charging gets you to 50% in just 30 minutes. It even supports bypass charging, which is perfect for gamers wanting to keep the phone cool while plugged in.

Display and Extreme Durability On the front, you are greeted with a compact 6.57-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display rocking a 120Hz refresh rate. What's truly impressive is the blinding 4,200 nits of peak brightness, ensuring you won't have any issues using it outdoors.

Realme has gone all out on durability. This phone isn't just splash-proof; it boasts IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications. This means it can easily survive being submerged in water and can withstand high-pressure, high-temperature water jets.

Cameras with a Unique Twist

The camera module looks quite similar to the Pixel series with a horizontal pill-shaped bar, but there is a fun hardware addition here—a dedicated rear selfie mirror. Paired with an Aura Ring Flash, this allows you to perfectly frame yourself while using the much better 50MP Sony IMX852 rear sensor for vlogs and selfies.

If you prefer the standard way, there is also a high-res 50MP front-facing camera. The software is loaded with AI editing tools like AI Popout, AI Portrait Glow, and AI Instant Clip to make social media posting a breeze.

Performance and Software Under the hood, the Realme 16 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo processor. You can pair this with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. It runs on the latest Android 16-based Realme UI, and the brand is promising a 72-month (6 years) fluency protection plan to keep the phone running smoothly over time.

Pricing and Availability in India The phone is available in two attractive finishes: Air White (with a Gleaming Wings gradient texture) and Air Black. Pre-orders are already live on Realme's official online store, with open sales starting on April 6.

Here is the official pricing breakdown:

  • 8GB RAM + 128GB Storage: Rs. 31,999

  • 8GB RAM + 256GB Storage: Rs. 33,999

  • 12GB RAM + 256GB Storage: Rs. 36,999

TecHoper's Take When our team looked at the complete package of the Realme 16 5G, it felt like a very targeted device. If we look strictly at the processor, the Dimensity 6400 Turbo might seem slightly underpowered for a phone crossing the 30K mark. However, raw performance isn't the selling point here.

The team feels that fitting a 7000mAh battery into an 8.1mm lightweight body, throwing in the highest level of waterproofing (IP69K), and adding a dedicated vlogging mirror makes this a very unique proposition. If you are a content creator on a budget or someone who prioritizes battery life and durability above gaming frame rates, the Realme 16 5G is a very solid, practical choice.
