What the Certifications Confirm
Thailand's NBTC platform has approved a device carrying the model number 2607DPC18G, with the listing clearly naming it the Poco X8. The certificate, filed under Xiaomi Technology (Thailand) Co., Ltd., identifies the device only as a 5G mobile phone and does not disclose any hardware details, which is standard for this type of filing.
The same model number has also cleared Singapore's IMDA certification, where it is listed as a 5G mobile terminal with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and NFC support, filed under Xiaomi Electronics Pte. Ltd. Neither certification reveals pricing, launch timing, or specifications beyond basic connectivity.
A Possible Redmi Connection
According to a claim from tipster Kacper Skrzypek, the Poco X8 5G is expected to be a rebadged version of the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G, which has already launched in China. This remains an unofficial claim and has not been confirmed by Xiaomi or Poco.
What Remains Unknown
Neither certification body has disclosed hardware specifications, pricing, or an official launch date. Reports circulating around the device — including a 6.83-inch OLED display, a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, and a 9,000mAh battery — are based on leaks tied to the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G rather than any official confirmation, and should be treated as unverified until Poco makes a formal announcement.
The dual certification does indicate that the Poco X8 5G is moving toward a release in markets covered by NBTC and IMDA, though the exact timeline is not yet confirmed.
