Huawei Pura X Max Launching on April 20: Official Design and Colors Revealed

Huawei is ready to launch a brand new foldable phone next week. The upcoming Huawei Pura X Max will officially debut on April 20 in China. Before the big launch, the company has revealed its unique wide design and all the color options. Here is a quick look at what to expect.

If you are a fan of foldable phones, Huawei is bringing something fresh to the market next week. The brand has officially confirmed that its new foldable, the Huawei Pura X Max, will launch in China on April 20. It will share the stage with the much-awaited Pura 90 Pro series.

While the launch is still a few days away, Huawei went ahead and listed the phone on its official store, revealing its entire design, colors, and storage options.

A Wider, Better Foldable Design Most foldable phones on the market today are tall and narrow, which makes typing on the outer screen a bit frustrating. The Pura X Max follows the footsteps of the original Pura X, featuring an unconventional "wide-aspect-ratio" design. This means the phone looks and feels like a regular, wide smartphone when folded, and opens up into a massive, landscape-style tablet.

On the back, you will notice a large pill-shaped horizontal camera module holding three camera lenses. Huawei has also included selfie cameras on both the outside cover screen and the inside folding screen, so you are always ready for a video call.

Five Colors and Huge Storage Options

According to the official store listing, the Huawei Pura X Max will come in five beautiful color options:

  • Zero Degree White

  • Vibrant Orange

  • Interstellar Blue

  • Olive Gold

  • Phantom Night Black

Huawei is not holding back on memory, either. The base model starts with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. If you need more space, you can grab the 12GB/512GB or 16GB/512GB versions. For extreme power users, there is a massive top-tier model with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Customers in China can already pre-order the device right now.

Expected Processor Specs Huawei has not officially listed the internal specifications yet. However, leaks suggest the phone will feature much larger screens than the previous Pura X model. Under the hood, it is highly likely to be powered by Huawei's own Kirin 9030 series processor. We will get the full confirmed spec sheet and pricing details when the phone officially goes live on April 20!

TecHoper's Take The wide foldable design is honestly the best way to make a folding phone. Phones like the Galaxy Z Fold are great, but the narrow front screen makes everyday tasks feel cramped. Huawei fixing that issue with a wider outer screen on the Pura X Max makes it a perfect daily driver. The horizontal camera pill on the back also gives it a very clean, premium look compared to the giant circular camera bumps we see on other Chinese foldables. Hopefully, Huawei decides to launch this model in the global market eventually!
